How each price was worked out
  • Resend: Transactional plans, overage included where it costs less.
  • Mailgun: Foundation plan.
  • Postmark: Basic plan, overage included where it costs less. Inbound needs Pro, about 10% more.
  • Mailchimp: Essentials, the lowest plan offered for 50,000 contacts, at list price.
  • Loops: Up to 50,000 subscribed contacts, sends unlimited.
  • Resend Marketing: Up to 50,000 contacts. A separate plan from their transactional one.
  • SendGrid: A starting price. Their page gives no price per volume, so we state no saving against it.
  • Amazon SES: Lower than ours, because it is sending only: lists, templates, unsubscribes, threads and a dashboard are yours to build. Attachment data is extra.

Read from each vendor’s own pricing page on 2 November 2026. Mail your list more often and the bill goes up here and on the email-priced plans, while contact-priced plans stay the same up to their limits.

How to read the result

Three ways email gets priced

Per email

You pay for volume, and list size costs nothing. It suits products and agents whose sending varies.

Per contact

You pay for the list, whether or not you mail it. Marketing tools tend to work this way, and a growing list gets dearer even in a quiet month.

Sending only

The lowest rate per email, with everything above the send left to you. It suits a team that wants to build and run the rest.

For features beside the prices, see the comparison pages. Our own curve is on the pricing page.

FAQ

Questions about email API pricing

Why does a figure say from?

It is the least that plan can cost at your volume. Mailgun publishes fixed steps and only a starting overage rate, so between two steps we show the step below rather than round up, and the saving says at least. SendGrid's page gives only a starting price, and Amazon SES charges extra for attachment data.

Is SendRaven always less?

No. Amazon SES costs less because it is only the sending. Resend's transactional plan is close to our price and ties us at some volumes. A flat contact plan such as Loops can cost less for a small list mailed very often, and a small Postmark plan can cost less at very low volumes.

Why are list tools priced differently?

Mailchimp, Loops and Resend's marketing plan charge for the size of your list, whether or not you mail it. Email APIs charge for the volume. We compare each against our price for one email per contact a month and do not add plans together, so a team that would need two plans elsewhere saves more than this shows.

Why one email per contact?

It keeps the calculator to one question, and it is a month with one newsletter. Mail your list more often and our price goes up with the volume, as Resend's, Mailgun's and Postmark's do, while a contact-priced plan stays the same, so the saving against those plans shrinks and can reverse. Our pricing page prices any volume.

Does SendRaven charge for contacts?

No. It charges per email sent, on one meter for transactional and marketing. Contacts, and received mail, are free.

How does SendRaven's pricing work at higher volumes?

It is one graduated curve, so there are no tiers to choose between and you pay for what you send. The figure here comes from the same function as the invoice. See the pricing page for the whole curve.
